Adding more columns to Quotes/Sales

looking to do a simple addition to our sales/quote lines.
I want to add the cat5desc from our inventory to our sale/quote or lines.
I found how to add custom columns to jiwa but have been unable to tie that to the cat5desc field automatically.
I figure I can do it by breakout but I feel I might be over complicating things.
