Serial Number Tracking

The current form under Inventory for Serial Number Tracking only shows serial numbers sold on sales orders. And returned credit notes.

That may be only a small selection where a serial number has been used.
An item may also be used in Job Costing, Manufacturing Requisitions, Stock Transfers, Stock Takes, warehouse transfers, creditor returns.

In Jiwa 7, can you get a true Serial Number Tracking form which really shows a full tracking of a serial number? What would be optimum is if this form displayed a complete history of a serial number throughout Jiwa from the time it was purchased (or made on an MR) and every single transaction which has ever happened for a given serial number both ins and outs.

I agree with Danny's sentiments, as I am aware of changes under regulatory requirements particulalry to do with medcinal products that are going to make this a must in the very near future.

Further to this the ACCC is launching mandatory requirments to do with consumer products that will make tracking of incidents related to a specific product necessary as of January 2010, so a further enhancement under version 7 that would be useful would be the ability to link a customer stafisfaction incident directly to a product and customer and even batch rather than to just a specific invoice and line as this only covers dispatch and accounting issues and not wider issues.

Yes, we have a solid audit trail in v7 which allows this

v7 has strong relational links (foreign keys), so it's all able to be audited in the the end. We may even be able to introduce the link of CSI to serial no in 6.05.xx.

In addition,

the serial number tracking should be able to track an ingredient or component batch or serial, and find who the customers were that bought that finished goods after a bill of material / manufacturing process.

This would be required for recalls based on input / ingredients.
