Is there a reason why payments can't be added to sales order if not the first snapshot?
I can think of a few scenarios where this would be quite handy.

version 7.2.1 but I guess it's applicable to 7.0.175 also.

It appears to me that you can add payments on snaps > 1. You cannot add a payment on a processed snapshot, however. No problem though, just create a new snapshot, save, then you can add more payments.

Hang on, I get it. One needs to create the next snapshot and here's the critical bit - it then needs to be saved.
I was just creating a new snap & I couldn't add a payment. But save it first, then the grid reappears & we're all good.
