email plugin modification - debtor statement

One client receives frequent requests to resend a statement. What do I need to add to the sample email plugin to have the option to email a statement from the debtor maintenance form?

This is a few hours work, and given the existing debtor statement form allows you to email statements with a provided as-at date already it might not be worth the effort to add that same functionality to the debtor maintenance form.

What if a tool was added to the debtor maintenance form, which when clicked loaded the debtor statement form pre-populated with that debtor account in the from and to ranges, and the email option selected? Then the user just needs to review the as-at date and then continue. This would probably be significantly less effort to code and leverages the existing debtor statement emailing code.

Let me know what you think - if that's not suitable then we'll need some more specifics as to what the customer wants (do they want to override the as-at date, recipient addresses, et cetera).

Hi Mike,
Your recommendation is 'spot on'. This is an ad-hoc requirement and your processing sequence is fine.

Attached is a plugin which I think will do what you want.

Hiya Mika,

Also found that button a great addition for the customer, as they are mostly in debtor maintenance, and want to send a statement.
The other request the add was to change the recipient email address. But once you are in the debtor email screen, it does not look like an option.

Do you think that is a possibility?

Cheers,
Ernst
