Latest Version of Controls and ServiceStack

Postby SBarnes » Mon Aug 21, 2017 7:34 pm

Hi Guys

Can you confirm what version of the Infragistics and Spread controls will be in the next production release?

Can you also confirm the version of ServiceStack as well?

Hi Stuart,

The versions for Infragistics and Spread will be unchanged from 07.00.175.00 :

Infragistics: 13.1.20131.2060
Farpoint Spread: 8.35.20151.0

As for ServiceStack - the 4.5.13 version we currently use is not a Nuget release, but their MyGet release - so the binaries for that change frequently - when they've digested the changes necessary for the recent release of .Net Core 2.0 / .Net Standard 2.0 they'll likely publish a Nuget version either as 4.5.14, 4.6.0 or 5.0.0 - we're not going to wait for that, but if they do release before we do, we will attempt to use their latest version (provided it doesn't introduce issues for us).

I'm afraid I can't be more specific than that - I really would prefer us to release with a version of ServiceStack from Nuget over their MyGet - but we've set ourselves a target for 7.1 to be released publicly by the end of September 2017, so if we have no stable newer version of ServiceStack before then it will be 4.5.13.

We might get a tad grouchy over the next 5 weeks as we try to focus on the 7.1 release :)

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the update.

Hmm working under tight dead lines if only I didn't know what that was like

Here's to a successful and on time 7.1 release as I know you guys have put in a big effort on this, so thanks on behalf of everyone it hasn't gone unnoticed.

Hi Mike,

Two quick questions hopefully :) :

1. What versions of SQL server will Jiwa 7.1 support?

2. Is there an ETA on the release of 7.0.186 as I need to incorporate the issue resolved by Dev-6194 which fixes the dashboard controls into a deliverable for testing?

1. SQL 2008 R2 or later. However, 7.2 which we have brewing over the horizon will introduce API Keys for customers (that is customers of Jiwa customers) and will likely require SQL 2016 or later as we'll probably be leveraging row level security which was introduced in SQL 2016.

2. Tomorrow, 30 August 2017.
As you've asked questions relating to licencing before, I should draw your attention to DEV-6197 which introduces a licencing change for Jiwa in 7.00.186.00.

I've also got a 7.00.175.00 SR2 undergoing testing and depending on the outcome of that testing, it may be this week also.
