Postby Mike.Sheen » Fri Feb 29, 2008 1:35 pm

We are pleased to announce the release of Jiwa Financials 6.05.10.

It's taken a little longer than expected, but we wanted to make this release the most stable one ever, so we made extra effort on the QA cycle.

Some 145 changes have been made to the software since we released 06.05.09.

There's a couple of new features - See the announcement on our website here for the brief overview.

This release is available immediately for download - login to the Jiwa partner page and download from there.

We look forward to your feedback!

Initial Performance Analysis

Postby Mike.Sheen » Sat Mar 08, 2008 7:57 pm

As some of you may be aware, 06.05.10 "phones home" to tell us at Jiwa the SQL server version, operating system version and basic performance statistics.

Here's what we've discovered so far (stats current as at 8 March 2008) - these stats exclude Jiwa in-house machines and Demo databases everywhere.

19 sites currently have 06.05.10 installed.

4 Sites have SQL 2000 (1 RTM, 1 SP3, 1 SP4 and 1 SP4 + latest hot-fixes)
15 Sites have SQL 2005 (1 RTM, 3 RTM + hot-fixes, 1 SP1, 6 SP2, 4 SP2 + Hot-fixes)

There are 4 distinct differenct versions of operating system being employed.

Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 (1.8%)
Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 (83%)
Microsoft Windows NT 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2 (13.2%)
Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.6000.0 (1.8%)

The worst performing queries are in the top tenth percentile are all under SQL 2000.

Be careful what conclusions you draw from this : SQL 2000 sites may have older hardware, and upgrading to SQL 2005 may end up in slower performance without hardware upgrades.
