JIWA 6.5 crash on Windows 2008 R2

Postby ted.nsw » Thu Jul 09, 2015 12:01 pm

Recently we are moving from an old windows 2000 server to a new Windows 2008 R2 server.
Most of features are okay but I can't print from "Sales Order", "Quotation" and "Purchase Order".
It keeps crashing.

My JIWA version is 6.5.12 and the error message is

Description:
Stopped working

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: Jiwa.exe
Application Version: 6.5.558.12
Application Timestamp: 48bb8b8b
Fault Module Name: unknown
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 07935ed0
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.18.10
Locale ID: 3081

Thanks in advance.

This could be caused by the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) setting blocking Crystal from accessing Jiwa remotely. The setting can be corrected as follows:

In Windows Server 2008 R2 and later:

Right click in the Start Menu on "Computer" and select "Properties"
Select "Advanced System Settings"
Click the 'Settings' button in the 'Performance' section (1st Settings button on form)
Select "Data Execution Prevention" tab
And add "Jiwa.exe" to programs that are allowed.

In Windows 7:

Right click in the Start Menu on "Computer" and select "Properties"
Select "System Protection"
Go to the "Advanced" Tab
Select "Settings"
Go to the "Data Execution Prevention" tab
And add "Jiwa.exe" to programs that are allowed.

In XP:

Right click in the Start Menu on "My Computer" and select "Properties"
Go to the "Advanced" Tab
Under the Performance Option, Select "Settings"
Go to the "Data Execution Prevention" tab
And add "Jiwa.exe" to programs that are allowed.

NOTE: The computer will need to be re-booted for changes to take effect.
