Inventory Figures tab is not working V 7.149

Since the system setting for the Year Start that was in V6, has been removed from V7, the Inventory Figures tab is less than useful. In the meantime, can you amend the sp that drives this form, so that I can hard code a "Year" and resurrect the data for this tab?

But, I am wondering why would a site need to look at figures 2 years older than the current financial year?

I have a few clients anxiously waiting for this fix in 7.0.152. The main issue is that they need to see Next Year figures as several of them don't roll over the financial year until well after July, often the following May or June, so they are almost always running Jiwa in Next Year.
Just to appease them somewhat, do you have an expected release date?

We're trying out a static release cadence policy for the next few months / years. Our aim is to have a public release on the 2nd Tuesday of every 2nd month, and the first release as part of this policy is March 8, 2016 - the next May 10, 2016 and so on.

I spent an hour or so looking at what we could do via plugin to address this particular issue as a stop-gap measure, but didn't arrive at a solution before I had to spend time on other matters. There is complexity in the figures tab of inventory maintenance form as the reorder levels are editable by the user and are tightly coupled from the business logic to the sales history returned by a stored procedure. My impression after looking at it is that we can't address the issue via a plugin.

If it's just the figures they want to see, and not edit the reorder levels on the same tab, then yes a plugin is possible - we can make a plugin add a new tab for the figure within the range they want. Having said that, with the release cadence I mentioned earlier - we simply do not have the time between now and the March 8 2016 deadline for the next release to do such a plugin.

Yes. I've done Inventory and am just doing Debtors now. Here's a sneak-peak of the inventory tab:

All the years defined in General Ledger Configuration appear for selection in the combo-box.
